Recycling Workshop Topics:

 

Climate Change

 

Recycling reduces greenhouses gases on many levels, and will increasingly play more of a role in tracking greenhouse emission reductions as the nation addresses climate change.

 

Sandra Ely, New Mexico Environment Department, Director of the Environmental Protection Division and a climate change specialist.

 

Chuck White, Waste Management, will present the tie-ins that climate change has to solid waste management and recycling.

 

New Mexico 2007 Legislative Session

 

This year found almost a dozen bills relating to recycling, waste reduction and solid waste. This session is a re-cap of bills that passed and were introduced and their affect on New Mexico.

 

Senator Dede Feldman, will keynote the workshop.

 

English Bird and O. Paul Gallegos, NMRC Director and President, will review other bills and their affects.
